Is the cost of using KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels cheap or expensive?
KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels are a type of fire-resistant material that is currently popular and widely used in various fire prevention and insulation solutions in the market. Compared to traditional fire-resistant materials, KH Shield panels possess numerous superior features and advantages. So, what are KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels? Is the cost of KH Shield fire-resistant panels justified by their performance?
What are KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels?
KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels are a type of fire-resistant material applied to the core of fire prevention and insulation solutions, such as fire-resistant air ducts, fire-resistant steel doors, fire-resistant rolling doors, fire-resistant steel structural systems, etc. Their primary function is to enhance fire resistance, maintain structural stability in case of fire incidents, and provide additional evacuation time for occupants.
KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels were developed to address three challenging aspects for businesses today:
- Mitigating fire and explosion risks: Fire and explosion risks are ever-present in human life at any given moment. Especially in this era of rapid development in residential and commercial construction, fire protection systems need to ensure operational readiness and quality usage.
- Stringent government regulations: To prepare for the infrastructure development boom and improve people’s quality of life, the government has issued stricter regulations regarding fire safety in construction projects. Notably, the QCVN 06:2022/BXD Standard and Decree No. 136/2020/NĐ-CP.
- Meeting market demand: Market demand is consistently increasing, but there is still a shortage of fire-resistant materials that meet standards and cater to people’s needs. Additionally, importing fire-resistant materials from abroad comes with high costs and poses challenges in terms of maintenance and periodic upkeep.
Applications of KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels
Within fire prevention and protection systems, KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels find extensive application in fire prevention and insulation solutions, including:
- Column protection: KHS.HF.M insulation panels are used for single-layer 4-sided column cladding and double-layer 4-sided column cladding. Depending on the thickness of the KHS.HF.M insulation panel, the column structure can achieve the R rating for fire resistance, including R30, R60, R90, and R120.
- Beam protection: KHS.HF.M insulation panels are applied to single-layer 3-sided beam protection and double-layer 3-sided beam protection. Depending on the thickness of the KHS.HF.M insulation panel, the beam structure can achieve the R rating for fire resistance, including R30, R60, R90, and R120.
- Fire-resistant wood doors: KHS.HF.W insulation panels and KHS.FA fire-resistant panels are applied to single-leaf and double-leaf fire-resistant wood doors. Depending on the thickness of the KHS.HF.W and KHS.FA panels, the fire-resistant wood doors can achieve the EI rating for fire resistance, including EI45, EI60, and EI90.
- Fire-resistant steel doors: KHS.HF.M insulation panels are applied to fire-resistant steel doors. Depending on the thickness of the insulation panel, the steel doors can achieve the EI rating for fire resistance, including EI70, EI90, and EI120.
- Fire-resistant ductwork: KHS.HF.M insulation panels are applied to fire-resistant ductwork within the ventilation system. Depending on the thickness of the insulation panel, the fire-resistant ductwork can achieve the EI rating for fire resistance, including EI30, EI45, EI60, EI90, and EI120.
- Fire damper construction: KHS.HF.M insulation panels and KHS.FA fire-resistant panels are applied to fire dampers in the ventilation system. Depending on the thickness of the insulation panel and fire-resistant panel, the fire dampers can achieve the EI rating for fire resistance, including EI30, EI45, EI60, and EI90.
- Other applications: fire-resistant partition walls, fire-resistant rolling doors, fire-resistant elevator doors, etc.
The Cost Solution for KH Shield Panels
As fire-resistant materials developed based on the innovative FireShieldPRO® technology, the initial cost of applying KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels might be higher than traditional materials. However, for long-term cost-effectiveness, KH Shield panels are an optimal choice. What drives this optimization?
- Long lifespan: KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels have a significantly longer average lifespan compared to traditional fire-resistant materials. Therefore, investing in KH Shield panels ensures sustainability and long-term benefits, contributing to cost savings in the future.
- Lightweight: KH Shield panels are lighter than most current fire-resistant materials. This factor maximizes cost savings in transportation, installation, maintenance, and upkeep. Superior functionality: KH Shield panels offer superior functionalities such as water resistance, termite resistance, and non-combustibility, preventing damages that would require replacements.
- In cases where traditional construction materials struggle to meet fire resistance standards, KH Shield fire-resistant and insulation panels offer an optimal solution to overcome quality deficiencies found in other materials.
