FireshieldPro.KHS.FA test achieves lowest smoke generation and toxicity
Experts in the field of fire prevention and firefighting have pinpointed the “primary culprits” responsible for human casualties in fires to be smoke and toxic gases, rather than flames or heat.
These toxic gases are typically odorless, colorless, and tasteless, but they are quickly absorbed into the body, impeding the oxygen transport to the blood and the respiratory cellular metabolism, leading to damage to various organs. Inhaling a significant amount of these toxic gases can cause unconsciousness and rapid departure.
The Fire ShieldPRO KHS.FA fire-resistant panel, produced by KH Shield Joint Stock Company, pioneers the application of the most advanced fire-resistant technology available today, with outstanding features: It can prevent fire for up to 4 hours, remain non-flammable for up to 6 hours, and its material composition is non-formaldehyde and non-combustible, eliminating concerns about smoke and toxic fumes. Recently, the product has been successfully tested for smoke generation and toxicity levels in accordance with the QCVN 06 standard, Appendix B, and certified by the Institute of Building Science and Technology (IBST) as follows:
-
Certification of the lowest smoke generation factor according to ISO 5659 standard: It requires the post-burn sample mass reduction to not exceed 50%, while the KH Shield sample only experiences a reduction of less than 30% of its mass, which is 1.6 times lower than the standard.
-
Smoke toxicity, HCL50 index [g/m3], classified as Category 1: the lowest toxicity level, the safest according to ISO 5660 standard.
-
Certification of non-combustible material according to ISO 1182 standard.
This holds significant meaning in contributing to minimizing harm to individuals and preventing the spread of fire and explosions in the event of a fire.
The FireshieldPRO KHS.FA fire-resistant panel is a specialized product line designed for fire protection solutions, including fireproofing wooden doors, ceiling systems, and partition walls. With varying panel thicknesses of 3mm, 6mm, 10mm, and 12mm, it is suitable for installing both recessed and suspended ceiling systems, as well as fire-resistant partition walls for large-scale projects with dense populations such as shopping centers, market stalls, bars, karaoke lounges, nightclubs, restaurants, schools, and industrial complexes.
