PAIN AND LOSS FROM FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS
In recent years, along with the rapid development of infrastructure and urban population density, fire and explosion incidents within residential areas have become increasingly complex, both in terms of frequency and severity.

The telling numbers
Statistics reveal that fire and explosion incidents in households and mixed-use residential and commercial properties consistently account for a high percentage of cases, exceeding 50%, with human casualties and property damage reaching up to 83%. Smaller fires tend to result in more human casualties, whereas larger fires primarily lead to property damage.
In addition to the pain of human losses, billions of Vietnamese dong also turn to smoke after each visit from the flames. Fire prevention in residential areas is becoming increasingly imperative, requiring more appropriate attention from various levels, sectors, and especially the awareness of the urban community.
Statistics on the causes of fires in residential areas show that over half are caused by direct sources such as electricity and flames, like cooking and unsafe electrical usage. However, the awareness and consciousness of people regarding these hazards remain relatively low, particularly in labor and dormitory areas. These areas typically have high population densities and lack proper fire protection facilities.
Furthermore, the production processes and equipment within households are outdated. Households primarily produce in cramped spaces, often with limited escape routes. Poorly organized furniture and materials significantly hinder safe escape during fires.
For standalone construction sites, there are currently no standards for fire prevention and firefighting, only regulations concerning the responsibility of homeowners for fire safety. Additionally, adjacent projects with small areas and mixed-use purposes have shown shortcomings. This is a significant gap.
The Importance of Fire-Resistant Materials
To proactively ensure safety in fire prevention, firefighting, rescue, and relief efforts, the quality of fire-resistant products, with the ability to withstand high temperatures, is of paramount importance in limiting fire and explosion incidents.
Besides the multitude of substandard and uncertified products flooding the market, there are many quality fire-resistant products available. As a pioneering manufacturer of fire-resistant materials, KH Shield Corporation has researched and applied the exclusive FIRESHIELDPRO® technology to produce fire-resistant panels, insulation panels, with exceptional advantages, such as:
- Eco-friendly material: Green technology has given rise to KH Shield panels that are environmentally friendly and non-destructive to nature, with infinite recyclability.
- Environmental resilience: The FireShieldPRO® technology equips KH Shield panels to withstand various environmental impacts, like not shrinking, resisting high humidity, deterring termite damage, and corrosion resistance.
- Superior fire resistance features: Non-flammable, no black smoke emission, and especially non-toxic. Additionally, it can endure continuous burning for 3 hours in an environment reaching 1000°C.
- The product also boasts excellent load-bearing and fire resistance capabilities, meeting technical requirements for both small and large construction projects, and it complies with the QCVN 06:2022/BXD standards.
Alongside the proactive consciousness of each individual, there needs to be more proactive involvement from regulatory agencies to prevent fire and explosion incidents. Strict quality control and decisive actions should be taken against enterprises using subpar, uncertified products of unknown origin, avoiding significant human and property damage.
